Sometimes really big things happen, and we get so excited we want to tell you all about it.
This is one of those times.
Ballet Arts of Peru is changing and in a huge way. With a new building in the works and all of the excitement that is Ballet Arts, this blog is all about keeping you updated. We (that is to say Debbie) want you to know what we’re doing throughout this entire process. You guys get to be involved from the comfort of your computer screens! Trust me when I say you’re making out better than we are… We “get” to do the actual labor from tearing out bathrooms and carpet, to building walls, laying flooring, painting, painting, and more painting.
In the coming months, you’ll see Debbie’s dream come to life. Expect articles, pictures, video, and whatever else I can come up with throughout this crazy, crazy process!
Who’s running this thing anyway?!
I’m Courtney Alwine, and I would say that the majority of you have probably seen me hanging around at some point or other. Debbie is my mom, and it isn’t exactly a secret that I think she has the best job in the world. I was a Ballet Arts student myself for 14 years until I graduated in 2007. Four years later, and I’m still here.
My job with Ballet Arts of Peru is essentially to do what Mom tells me. More specifically though, my job title would be something along the lines of “technology guru.” I have edited music for recitals, put together the website, and created performance DVDs. (Speaking of which, Holiday Spectacular II DVDs are on sale at the studio, and I’m rather pleased with the result. You should probably buy one or three!)
Now, I’m starting this blog. I’ll be doing my best to keep up with the happenings at the studio whether I’m in town for a bit or back in Indy for school. [Author's Note: I'd like to make it clear, Mom, that I'm not going to fall back on my school work, Mom, and that I'll update as often as possible, Mom, as long as it doesn't interfere with school, Mom.]
Basically I’ll be doing what I always do… Follow Debbie around and talk about things.
